Trinity Girls Network Announces Launch and Formal Gala Celebrating Local Philanthropists in Partners
Chris Tucker, Pat Houston, Darryl Strawberry, Dr. Bernice King and Keshia Knight Pulliam among List of 2016 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award Honorees
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Trinity Girls Network, a new resource for young girls and women in the Atlanta metropolitan area, announced today that in celebration of its launch, the organization will host a formal gala on November 5. In partnership with President Barack Obama, the organization will present the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of philanthropy and community service to 20 honorees during the event. Dr. Cheryl “Action” Jackson will serve as the Mistress of Ceremony.
This year’s honorees include: Sarah-Elizabeth Reed, Dr. Lauretta Pierce, Dr. Cindy Trimm, Dr. DeLores Pressley, Chris Tucker, Dr. Bernice King, Dr. Lei Lewis, Lenika Scott, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Xernona Clayton, Tomeka Holyfield, Darryl Strawberry, Gregg Scott, E’lyse Murray, Pastor Glenn Bernard, Pat Houston, Dr. Anna McCoy, Phyllis Newhouse, Yusef Salaam and Chloe Thigpen, who will be recognized as a Junior Ambassador and presented with the Presidential Bronze Award.
Each honoree will receive a letter signed by President Obama commending their achievements and a certificate of service. A tremendous honor, the award not only spotlights the work of the recipients, but also serves as a powerful reminder to others of the importance of taking action and giving back. The honorees will be among the last individuals to receive the coveted award from President Obama, the nation’s first African-American president, as he prepares to complete his final term in office.

Trinity Girls Network was created to empower, inspire, heal and guide at-risk youth and young girlsand women throughout the Atlanta area who are presently in abusive situations or have aged out of the foster care system and are transitioning to independent living. The organization facilitates a variety of workshops and enrichment and educational programs with a focus on GED preparation, mentoring, career development, health and wellness, anger management, bible study and other personal development topics and issues. The organization also provides a safe place for restoration and guidance through its partnership with Luaretta’s House, and food pantries in schools for needy children through its partnership with the Pantry Project.
Dr. Mohair was appointed to World of Life Ministries International/International Third World Leaders Association Ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council in 2015. As the founder of Trinity Girls Network, she has cast a vision for the organization and its partners to help young women increase self-awareness, achieve self-sufficiency and become productive global citizens who will become leaders in their community and throughout the world.
